Two new Slash Signature model Les Pauls will bereleased in early October. One model made by Gibson USA and the other by Epiphone. The Gibson USA model is limited to 1,000 pieces total and features Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups, weight relieved body, proprietary wiring, caps, resistors and tone pots and is topped off with Slash’s personal skull/crossbones and tophat logo with signature on the headstock.
The Epiphone counterpart made in Qingdao, which is limited to 2,000 pieces, features many of the same appointments as the Gibson USA model including the Seymour Duncan Alinco Pro II pickups. A long neck tenon joint is used which provides additional strength and stability to the neck, and offers more wood-to-wood contact between the neck and body, which ultimately results in sweeter tone and longer sustain.
Both models feature a hybrid profile that takes the roundness of the Les Paul necks of the late 1950s, matching it with the slimness of the necks from the early 1960s. Credit: Gibson.
