I have to admit I did not notice this new Gretsch G5191BK at NAMM but it looks kinda cool. There were so many guitars at the Gretsch display (not to mention the amount of people and all the fuss over the Eddie Cochran guitar) that it was probably easy to miss.
The new Tim Armstrong G5191BK Tim Armstrong Signature Electromatic Hollow Body guitar features parallel tone bars and sound post, 17″ wide body, harp tailpiece and a pair of “Black Top” Filter’Tron pickups Grover, tuners, block fretboard markers, gold-plated hardware and FLAT BLACK urethane finish. This new model is also available left-handed.
For those of you who do not know who Tim Armstrong is just Google him and you’ll quickly find out about his record labels and all the bands like Rancid, Operation Ivy and Downfall he has worked with.
It is amazing how the Gretsch archtop guitar finds itself into so many genre’s of music. It’s not just for rockabilly….!
