Why the Name 300guitars???

I constantly get asked the same question: “How did you come up with the name 300guitars”? Some people think that I actually have 300 guitars….! That would be nice but all I can think of is the maintenance with that many instruments!!! Truth is I have about a dozen guitars many of which I have had for a bunch of years and actually built myself.

So here is the story behind the 300guitars name…..in case you were wondering. A little over two years ago my man Todd Hamilton called me one day and told me that I should start a guitar website with a whole bunch of cool info on it. We then had a bunch of emails and phone calls back and forth and I decided to give it a go. While he was busy building the site I was writing articles and thinking of a name. This is like thinking of a name for your band and have it be a name that you will have to stick with for a long time.

Our launch date was approaching and I still had no name for my site. One night I found myself just hanging around at home and decided to chill for the evening. After much debate of what I should be doing with a little down-time I decided to watch a movie and selected the movie called “300”. That was the movie about the 300 Spartans led by King Leonidas that battled an entire Persian army back in 480 BC. I really liked the story about the “underdog” so to speak and then it just hit me……300guitars.com! I really gave it very little thought and decided to run with it. Now a little over 2 years later 300guitars is underdogging it’s way through an entire internet full of websites. The only difference between the Spartans and 300guitars is that I have YOU! The loyal supporters of my dream and passion….300guitars.com. I’m sure that ol’ King Leonidas would have totally kicked the well over 7,000 Persian asses at the battle of Thermopylae if they had supporters like you guys!! Thank you very much for your constant support and visiting me here. It means so much more to me than you even know! -Billy

Testimonials:
David Nicholas - The 20watt amp is sounding fantastic! Delivered the goods at the gig and I'm finding cool tones all over the place with it. Love the cab w Emenince Tonkerlites too- perfect for my sounds! Makes the 12 string sound like a grand piano!
Peter Lacis - I had an audition for something recently that was all about Led Zeppelin I -- my custom Pennalizer BLEW THE MINDS of the guys I was playing with. They couldn't believe the sounds coming out of that amp. That album was never in my mind when I came up with the idea....so that's yet another testament to the amazing work that you do.
Scott Goldberg - I am very satisfied with the set-up, and the fast turn around.  With the "lower" action it feels easier to play.  I will definitely spread the word.
