The Jean Larrivee guitar company announced the release of their new electric guitar for 2008. Best know for their high quality acoustic guitars they have spent four years developing their new solid body electric guitar the RS-4. They endeavored to make the new model reach its maximum potential through excellence in craftsmanship and superior hardware.The body is made of South American Mahogany with a full ¾” flamed Maple top. The single piece South American Mahogany neck is attached with an extra long mortise and tenon joint and has an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Another specialty feature is the “spoke nut, truss rod” which allows neck adjustment with strings at full tension and does not require a special tool. The average weight of the RS-4 is 8 lbs.
Larrivee has selected the best available hardware with tone and reliability being the most important criteria. The RS-4 features Jason Lollar Imperial humbucking pickups, Schaller M6 tuners and strap locks, Luxe Bumblebee paper-in oil-capacitors, Switchcraft switch and jack and CTS potentiometers.
There are four color options: Tobacco Sunburst, Cherry Sunburst, Charcoal Burst and Solid Amber. MSRP $3198.00.
