The new Recording King Lap Steel model couldn’t come at a more appropriate time. I have been playing a little bit of lapsteel lately and this new model looks interesting.
The Recording King Lap Steel guitar is made of solid mahogany and features a string-through design which is great for tone as well as sustain. There is a single EMG-designed Alnico P-90 pickup and open geared tuners for easy tuning. The new model also features single volume and tone controls to control dynamics.
There are two different finishes to choose from; Natural Mahogany or Sunburst. MAP pricing is $149.99 so getting into a lap steel is really affordable. They are a lot of fun to play I must admit..!!
