New Jimmie Vaughan Album!

Jimmie Vaughan has a new album due out on July 6th called “Jimmie Vaughan-Plays Blues, Ballads & Favorites”. We all know his brother, SRV, as a guitar hero legend……myself included. But I have to say that there was always something simplistically cool about Jimmie’s playing that I always loved. I often listened to the Fabulous Thunderbirds back in the day.

Jimmie’s first album in 9 years features a bunch of cool tunes by Little Richard, Jimmy Reed, Roy Milton, Roscoe Gordon and others. The album was recorded in Austin, Texas and features legendary blues singer Lou Ann Barton on two tracks. There’s a brand-new instrumental called “Comin’ & Goin’,” and a version of Willie Nelson’s “Funny How Time Slips Away” with vocals by Bill Willis, the famed Hammond organ player who recorded with James Brown and Bill Doggett.
