Lookie here just in time for NAMM! The new Fender American Special Series. It seems that Fender is marketing this series as “built by the people and for the people” as value conscious “guitars for the times”. They are specifically designed for the working player that wants a U.S.A. made Fender and still be easy on the ol’ wallet.
There are three new models in the American Special Series including the American Special Stratocaster, American Special Telecaster and the American Special Stratocaster HSS. All three models are priced within reach of a wide spectrum of players. The new American Special Series share features of the Highway One and American Standard Series.
Some features include alder bodies with gloss polyurethane finish, 9.5″-radius maple necks, jumbo frets and Texas Special pickups, The HSS model has an Atomic humbucking pickup in the bridge position.
These look like good value guitars and I will see if I can give them a whirl at NAMM next week!
