penn-a-liz-er. -noun 1. One who is obsessed with guitars and all related topics. 2. Crazed lunatic who cannot stop playing, building, tweaking, talking about, and looking at guitars along with all related accessories. 3. Super passionate guitar addict who almost hates to sleep for fear of missing some sort of guitar related action.
Alright…I may have went a little overboard with that ;>). Anyway there have been a lot of you asking so here is the back story behind my nickname the “Pennalizer”. Way back in ancient history (1994 to be exact…) I was working with Jim Pasch now of the Parts Drawer as the repair tech at his vintage guitar shop “Outlaw Guitars”. After meeting the late Cesar Diaz I was completely inspired to start building tube guitar amplifiers. I ended up leaving Outlaw Guitars and starting my own amp business called the Penn Instrument Company. I thought up a name for the amp line and called them the Pennalizers. There were 4 models: Pennalizer 15, 20, 50 and 100. So the Pennalizer name kinda stuck with me over the years. That’s actually what I am saying at the beginning of my videos I shoot for Youtube and here on the blog. So now you guys know……!
You can actually visit my Penn Inst. Co. amp site here. I don’t do too much building these days maybe a couple per year at this point but feel free to check it out.

Testimonials:
David Nicholas - The 20watt amp is sounding fantastic! Delivered the goods at the gig and I'm finding cool tones all over the place with it. Love the cab w Emenince Tonkerlites too- perfect for my sounds! Makes the 12 string sound like a grand piano!
Peter Lacis - I had an audition for something recently that was all about Led Zeppelin I -- my custom Pennalizer BLEW THE MINDS of the guys I was playing with. They couldn't believe the sounds coming out of that amp. That album was never in my mind when I came up with the idea....so that's yet another testament to the amazing work that you do.
Scott Goldberg - I am very satisfied with the set-up, and the fast turn around. With the "lower" action it feels easier to play. I will definitely spread the word.
