Who besides me is totally pumped about the new ZT Amplifiers Club amp? If you are pumped like me then let me just say that the ZT Amplifiers Club amp is on the way!! I made a video blog post a little while back about the availability of the new Club amp. According to the good folks at ZT Amplifiers the Club amp is still on schedule for mid-January, just in time for the 2010 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.
I played the prototype back in May at the NY Amp Show and I have to say it sounded really great. I’m a bit of a tube snob I have to say but these ZT Amps are great and my personal Lunchbox has proven to be excellent on live gigs and in the studio.
The above pic is me crankin’ through a Lunchbox for the Premier Guitar interview crew. You can see the Club prototype on the shelf to the right.
I can sum up the sound of the ZT Club prototype in one word……huge! It was loud, punchy and had a big bottom end that stayed tight even when cranked up loud. There was plenty of volume and it had a nice dynamic response. If the Club amp is anything like it’s little brother, the Lunchbox, then it will be pedal friendly for working musicians on their live gigs. Jazz players are going to love the Club and when I played the prototype I was amazed by the headroom and the sound of the reverb. Now keep in mind that I played the prototype but according to Ken Kantor and everyone at ZT Amplifiers the production model is even better!
I will keep everyone posted on any news updates regarding the ZT Club amp as I get them. My demo unit for review is still due to arrive right around the holidays. I am so looking forward to putting it through it’s paces and giving it some real world gig time.
