2007 Rolling Stones Forty Licks Merlot

Winemaker Mark Beaman has produced a Merlot “wine that rocks” to capture the essence of “Forty Licks” the 40 tracks that cover the Rolling Stones’ career. Beaman says that Merlot captures the comfort in turning into a classic that stands the test of time much like the band.

The 2007 Merlot is produced in Mendocino County’s style and exudes aromas of black cherry with a slight mint quality. These flavors are followed by rich plum flavors, black cherry, brown sugar (pun?), cinnamon and cedar. This is a red wine that is a bit on the dry side and would match up with herb-roasted chicken, grilled beef or smokey chili.

I wonder if Gary Vaynerchuk will get around to reviewing this on his Wine Library TV show? I would not mind drinking some of this and getting my ya-ya’s out!
