Gibson is releasing a limited run of 250 Angus Young SG Standard guitars. We all know AC/DC for their simple, driving rock tunes. However the new Angus Young SG Standard is anything but simple or standard for that matter. The list of detailed nuances are a mile long for this guitar.
This new model is based on Young’s 1968 SG he acquired in 1970 and was used on many recordings and tours since 1973. Some of the specs and features include solid clear mahogany body and neck, custom-designed Angus Cherry finish, pre-worn nitrocellulose lacquer, custom carved super-slim neck profile, 17 degree headstock angle, ebony fingerboard, lightning bolt inlays, bone nut, 1.555″ neck width, Duncan pickups and Schaller tuners. There are actually even more specs for this guitar believe it or not!
Production will be limited to 250 pieces with 50 being aged in-house by Gibson and signed by Angus himself. The remaining 200 guitars will receive VOS treatment for a pre-worn look. This looks like a cool guitar and will be priced at $9409.00 for the 50 signed guitars and $6115.00 for the remaining 200 guitars. For those about to rock……..we have a new SG Standard!!!
