The Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White Talk Guitars in New Film Documentary

Jimmy Page and Jack White The forthcoming documentary film, “It Might Get Loud,” is generating considerable buzz among music fans and guitar players. First screened in May at the Cannes Film Festival, the movie officially premieres this September at the Toronto International Film Festival.

According to a press release, the movie “revolves around a singular day when Jimmy Page, the Edge, and Jack White first met and sat down together to share their stories, teach, and play.”

The film – which was directed by Davis Guggenheim (who won an Academy Award for his direction of Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”) – is said to “capture the guitarists as each explains and demonstrates how he changed the sound of the electric guitar to suit his own distinctive musical style.”

In one scene, as the guitarists banter with one another about their influences, Page pulls out a Link Wray album, the Edge pulls out an album by the Sex Pistols, and White pulls out an album by the Flat Duo Jets. No word yet on whether the film will see a full-fledged theatrical release. Credit: Russell Hall and Gibson.
