I bought from my tech an old Mullard tube (around sixtees). It test better than a lot of new tubes. Put in my Champion 600 it's an other dimention. Why they don't build like old stock!

N.O.S. tubes are excellent and most of them sound great. There are however some current production tubes that sound pretty darn good. The new tubes labeled Tung Sol sound great and so far have been reliable. The Sovtek 12AX7LPS is a good one as well. Theymay not have the lifespan as N.O.S. but for the money the sound is there and affordable to replace more often. Keep rockin'!
